Stop faster and you'll be quicker. A seemingly contradictory statement but something that every racer has had to deal with on road courses. When we look to design a race bike or car, one of the most important things we prioritize is how the vehicle can consistently stop. Consistent brake forces will allow suspension (no matter how simple or complex) to do its design function as ideally as possible. When brake forces are inconsistent they will put instability into the feedback one receives in the handling of their machine which puts a toll on rider confidence. It's always a paramount objective of full builds that come out of our shop that no matter how fast a bike we build we make sure that it has the appropriate stopping power for its intention. With many race classes allowing aftermarket use of rotors, pad selection, and calipers , riders must stay cautious for what combinations to choose before barreling down an open straight.
